Many patients dislike the lingering numbness associated with soft-tissue anesthesia. As your dental professional, we want you to have the most comfortable experience possible. We are pleased to offer our patients OraVerse® to help reverse the effects of lingering anesthesia. Once your dental procedure is complete, we will administer an OraVerse injection using the same injection site as the local anesthetic. It is scientifically proven to accelerate the return of normal sensations in the lips and tongue. We want to help you smile, drink, and speak normally as quickly as possible upon completion of your dental work.
For more information, ask Dr St Cyr or Dr Shinabery if OraVerse is an option for your treatment plan.
OraVerse is proven safe and effective for adults and children aged 6 and older and weighing more than 33 pounds.
Important Safety Information:
Tachycardia, bradycardia, and cardiac arrhythmias may occur with the use of phentolamine or other alpha-adrenergic blocking agaents. Although such effects are uncommon with OraVerse (phentolamine mesylate), Phentolamine mesylate is an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent. Though tachycardia and cardiac arrhythmia may occur with the injection of drugs in this class, such events are reported to be uncommon after submucosal administration of OraVerse. No serious adverse events were reported in the studies and the most common adverse reaction that was greater than control was transient injection site pain. OraVerse is not recommended for use in children 6 or younger or weighing less than 33 pounds.
